Porkstars Challenge – Elevating Vietnamese Cuisine with U.S. Pork
Building on the success of the “Porkstars Challenge – Elevating Vietnamese Cuisine with U.S. Pork Season 1” competition.
On September 11, 2023, at the Asian-European Culinary Vocational School, located at 593 Le Van Tho, Ward 14, Go Vap District, the final round of the “Porkstars Challenge – Elevating Vietnamese Cuisine with U.S. Pork Season 2” competition was held. The event featured eight outstanding contestants who advanced from the first round, which had over 100 participants, including professional chefs and students from accredited culinary training schools across the country.
The competition aims to provide a valuable platform and recognize the creativity of Vietnamese chefs in incorporating U.S. pork into Vietnamese cuisine. The competition was organized by the U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF), Indiana Soybean Alliance, Indiana Corn Marketing Council in collaboration with the Saigon Professional Chefs Association.
The United States has long developed an efficient system for raising, slaughtering, and distributing pork U.S. pork is renowned for its superior quality and delicious flavor, thanks to a nutrient-rich diet consisting of grains such as corn, soybeans, barley, sorghum, and oats. The pigs are raised in scientifically designed barns to prevent diseases and transported using specialized systems to minimize stress before reaching the slaughterhouse. All processes are strictly overseen by the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture).
